COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE

As of 20 January 2021

The Myanmar Government is monitoring the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and restrictions are currently in place regarding travel and public gatherings.

For the latest information about restrictions in Myanmar, please refer to the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism  COVID-19 website.

What can I do?

Cafes, tea shops, and restaurants are closed.

Some Hotels are open under the COVID-19 safe guidelines.

Closed

Beaches, islands, waterfalls are now closed until 31st January 2021.

Mask

When the Public Community in the township of Tanintharyi Region goes outside from their home are required to set up a Mask.

Coming to Tanintharyi 

- Requirements for Community Based Facility Quarantine (CBFQ) or Hotel Quarantine (HQ)

- People who come from outside of the Tanintharyi Region must enter Community Based Facility Quarantine (CBFQ) or Hotel Quarantine (HQ) for (7) days and take SWAP test kit.

- People who need to travel within Tanintharyi Region must have a recommendation letter from the respective authorities’ office.

- People who need to travel outside Tanintharyi Region must take SWAP test kit and a recommendation letter from the respective authorities' office.

Transport

-Own vehicles and public bus transportation are not allowed to travel.

Domestic airlines

Domestic airline opens every day. The passenger who wants to travel to Dawei, Myeik, Kawthaung must take Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test (RDT) Kit, 36 hours in advance and get a recommendation letter. If he or she arrives in the terminal must take swab test again and enter Community Based Facility Quarantine (CBFQ) or Hotel Quarantine (HQ) for (7) days.

International Travel

Tanintharyi is close to all international travel but only open domestic airlines.
