Island Hopping - Moscos Island
The beaches of Moscos Island are breeding grounds for different species of sea turtles. Tourist can do snorkelling, diving, visiting the village and fishing.
The Moscos Islands are an island chain in the Andaman Sea, right off the northern coast of the Tanintharyi Region, in the southern area of Myanmar. Administratively, the islands depend from the Dawei District of the Taninthayi Division. Generally, all islands are covered in thick forest and they rise steeply from rocky shores. The small steep rocky islets are important as nesting places for the edible-nest swiftlets (Aerodramus fuciphagus). The beaches are breeding grounds for different species of sea turtles. Tourist can do snorkelling, diving, visiting the village and fishing.
Day return trip from Dawei, not allow overstay on the island, but you can stay over San Hlan CBT, you can get Dawei from Yangon both flight and bus, it takes 1 hr by flight and 12 hrs by bus. Normally, tour agents pick up 7:00 am at the hotel and then head to San Hlan fishing village, to take the boat. To get to the island, it takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the boat speed.
